National Ambient Air Quality Monitoring (NAAQM) Programme

Under this programme, Ambient Air Quality stations have been set up for actual monitoring of quality of Ambient Air. The HSPCB is monitoring Ambient Air Quality at three monitoring stations i.e. two at Faridabad and one at Yamuna Nagar. The results of ambient air quality is being sent to CPCB regularly. Four monitoring stations have been set up by I.O.C. Panipat Refinery and three stations by NFL Panipat and ambient air quality is being monitored. The Board has directed Panipat Refinery to get the carrying capacity study done from National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI Nagpur taking into account all existing sources of air pollution including vehicular pollution of Panipat City and pollution expected to be added due to expansion of Refinery project, Petrochemical Plant and Thermal Power Plant at Panipat. The study report would be submitted by NEERI within 12 months.
